About Me..
My name is Nadine Simon and I'm excited to share a little about myself with you. I live in Kippens, which is a small but facinating town outside Stephenville, NL, Canada. I originally grew up just a few kilometers from here in a tiny place called Ship Cove, along with many generations before me. I was born to a very large, old fashioned family with rich beliefs and a strong background to the sea.
My father was a fisherman, my mom a former school teacher and stay-at-home mother for many years. Needles to say with many generations of roots to the ocean, my childhood was spent devouring every story and bit of folklore that came my way. Not realizing until a much older age what an impact the stories did have on my future.
Since my childhood days of growing up in Ship Cove, I have married and have two children who are the delight of my life. As well as being an author, I run a company with my husband and his brother.
I'm grateful to have this opportunity to discuss my book "The Treasured Dream." It's a fantastic story about a little boy named Jake who in fact is my son. He had a reading challenge when he was little and I spent every opportunity engaging him in storytime. It began as an investment into his future to enjoy reading, but as time went by it developed into a nightly passion for the both of us.
Since those days, Jake has grown and is in college. He has long overcome his reading problem and reads with great passion every chance he gets.
After writing a story about Jake, my daughter suggested a story should be done with her as the main character and thats where I am today, finishing up on her story and soon ready to send that one out to be enjoyed by all. This story is called "Flickers of True Destiny," and I hope you will pick up a copy of one or both of my books and enjoy a few trips down memory lane with me and my family.
Nadine Simon was born into a large family with long-time ties to the
sea. Her father carried on the tradition of a long line of fishermen. Living close
to the sea and growing up hearing seafaring stories, Nadine's imagination was a
fertile ground for the creation of this pirate story. Nadine Simon resides in Kippens,
Newfoundland with her husband Shawn, her son Jake, and her daughter Genee.
